GRC Tracing Service in your area:

Organisation of the National Information Bureau

Organisation

In accordance with the federal structure of the German Red Cross, the National Information Bureau (AAB) and Information Offices for Families are organised on all GRC branch levels across the country.

There is thus a well-functioning organisation available for implementing the tasks of the AAB.

These include:

  • the management of the National Information Bureau (D/AAB),
  • the GRC Tracing Service's Munich office at Federal level,
  • 19 Regional Offices for Disaster Tracing Inquiries (LAB) and
  • 350 District Offices for Disaster Tracing Inquiries (KAB) with approx. 3.700 trained, primarily voluntary, workers.

The GRC’s District Offices for Disaster Tracing Inquiries in the GRC district branches play an important role in the field. They take telephone tracing inquiries, distribute professional information and if necessary deal with family members making inquiries.

The addresses of the GRC regional and district branches are listed on the GRC's website www.drk.de.
